On October 9th, 2023, the Fayetteville Fire Department and the City of Fayetteville held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new construction of Station 2. Mayor Lionel Jordan and Fire Chief Brad Hardin both gave remarks at the ceremony.

"This 11,000 square foot fire station includes three and a half apparatus bays, sleeping quarters with eight bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, day room offices and a fitness room. The station will be located at the corner of North St. and Woolsey Ave., in close proximity to UAMS." - City of Fayetteville, AR
